About Miss Queen of Queens
Background
Miss Queen of Queens is an annual beauty pageant event hosted by Lakhanya Events and Promotions. This year Lakhanya will host the 3rd annual Miss Queen of Queens which focuses on up lifting female models, upcoming dj’s, designers and dancers who have not yet been discovered, whilst at the same time targeting the issues which are challenging our communities such as aids awareness. We believe that through our intervention we will see more professional models, beauty queens, designers, dj’s and dancers emerging from our communities.
The show will take place on Saturday the 3rd May 2008 and the venue will be Naledi Hall in Soweto, thus giving or extending the invitation to interested models from in and around Soweto and Johannesburg.
The pageant was originally developed to afford young models an opportunity to participate in professionally run modeling competitions in their own area and encourage professionals in the field to share their knowledge. Since its beginning in 2006, the pageant has certainly become a recognized opportunity for female models, designers, dancers and dj’s to access a platform to exhibit their talents and expertise in their respective fields.
With the aim of countering boundaries that are challenging our communities into living below their capabilities and abilities. The event has seen growth in the number of participants and spectators over the past two years. We trust that the programme planned for Miss Queen of Queens 2008 will appealing to a broad spectrum of upcoming professionals and spectators. To ensure on ongoing improvement, we again encourage from all those interested in the field of modeling, designing, arts and culture, particularly those who are seeking to progress in the respective fields to take part and share their knowledge and experience.
This year Miss Queen of Queens is proudly sponsored by Cell C hence the show has been titled “Cell C Miss Queen of Queens 2008”.
Cell C Miss Queen of Queens 2008 will not be just another beauty pageant which is more focused on profit making that real skills transfer.
